Update Device Screen
The update device screen is where you update your device with Principalm software and data.
User
Select the user whose device you are updated. If you have no users defined, Default User will be displayed.

Destination
Select where you would like to update to:
- For iPhone OS devices, select iPhone Update Service.
- For BlackBerry devices, select the drive housing the SD card (which is inserted in the BlackBerry).
- For Palm and Windows Mobile devices, select the SD card drive (the SD card will be inserted into the card reader).
If you don’t see your device in the list:
- click Rescan to look for it
- if you are using an SD card reader, ensure that there is an SD card inserted
- if you are using a Blackberry, follow these steps to ensure it is in Mass Storage Mode.
Password / Confirm
Enter the password that will be used to access data on the device.
Show Filters
Show the checkboxes that set the filters that are applied to the data on the card. Here you can reduce the amount of data that is put onto the card.
Schools to Update
Checked schools are imported. If a schools has a
beside it, it will not be able to be checked. Double click the school tab to configure the settings on the Schools Screen.
Update Device
After you have made your settings, click Update Now to update the device. A progress window will appear, showing you the steps Principalm Connect is taking to update your device. When it is finished, click OK and disconnect your device from the desktop computer.
If you find the update slow, you may be able to schedule some of it to happen while you are away from your desk. See command line for more information.
