Types of Card Supported

Principalm will run on any card that will fit into the card slot of your handheld device. MMC, SD, and Memory Stick are all supported, as well as anything else that can be written to by your PC and read from your handheld. SD cards are recommended instead of MMC cards due to durability and performance. For Palm card type and size compatibility please see:

Performance Considerations

There is a wide margin between the performance of various cards, because of the speed at which they transfer data. In general, we have found that larger cards are faster than those with smaller capacities, even if made by the same company. Card performance is also governed by the speed of the card slot on the handheld device. When a slow card is used on an older (Palm OS 4.x) handheld, performance degrades rapidly. If you are going to be using Principalm on a Palm OS 4 device, better cards such as 128MB are recommended. Also keep in mind that memory cards can be used for a number of other uses, including storing other files from your handheld or desktop computer.
