What if ODBC access is denied by the School District?
In many districts a school will not have ODBC access to their SIS Database. For this situation, we suggest the following:
- Install the Data Extractor on a machine with access to the SIS Database, usually a machine at the district computing center.
- Configure the data extractor to extract each school into a separate folder.
- Set up the folders to be viewable by the schools via shared network connection, or ftp to the appropriate location via scheduled scripts.
- Configure Connect at each school to read from the shared folder/FTP drop.
