“Failed with unknown error while parsing query”

Only occurs on SchoolMAX data extractor: version 2.0.0.0 or higher I receive the following error: "Reading Student Inclusion...Failed with unknown error while parsing query: SELECT " If this error occurs fairly quickly after clicking Extract, chances are the problem is caused by a timeout sent by the Oracle DB.

This is fixed by ensuring "Enable Query Timeouts" is unchecked. To fix follow the following steps: Go to:

• Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Data Sources (ODBC)
• Find the ODBC DSN Name (Typically SMAX-PR)(this may be on the System DSN tab)
• Click on the Driver.
• Click on Configure.
• Near the bottom you will see: "Enable Query Timeouts" make sure this is unchecked.
• Click OK.

Try extracting the data again.
